Think I wore this out once. Unable to bear the stares and sniggers I reluctantly handed this masterpiece on to my more outgoing sister. One misadventure with her washing machine's hot water cycle and sadly those freaky white faces turned to pink and my multi-headed jumper shrunk to infant size.
If I was a Lady of Leisure I think I would enjoy blogging about craft follies. Maybe such blogs already exist. Do let me know if you come across any. Or, even better, if you have any your own craft horrors to share.

that jumper is ACE Carmel! I laughed so hard I nearly fell off the chair reading the bit about the washing catastrophe. I think it's amazing you finished it! It's huge (was huge). he he. I think sadly all my earlier projects were grand ideas, and I'd start them but not finish. i have a latch hook rug around here somewhere of a puppy I never finished, then there are two embroidery (make that four) projects half done. So all boring and incomplete! And I will definately keep my eyes peeled for crafting catastrophes for you. xo hugs, and kisses, xo K
yes, it was one humungus jumper. there was another one after it, just as big, featuring an upside down parachutist. all the rage in the 80s.
crafting catastrophes .. there's the blog title.
latch hook puppy rug sounds wild.
kristina, you were on the money.
just found the Craft Catastrophes blog.
Hilarious. Too happy.
Oh it's fabulous! What a great laugh :)) I think my whole blog is a chronicle of catastrophes ;) Really enjoyed this post - will check for CC blog too. Kx
What a great jumper. It must have been quite difficult to knit. I have had more than my share of knitting catastrophes too..haha.
Thank you SO much! you made me laugh so hard. This jumper is really eh...interesting. but look at those vintage-online-stores. you could have sold yours for maybe 50$? (maybe 20 as it only fits kids now...)
