glass paper weight i bought from my FK neighbour Studio Skinky |
I should be ashamed really. I always underestimate this market. Always. But never once has it let me down and last weekend it surprised and delighted like nothing I've ever experienced before.
To every single person who dropped by my ramshackle stall I say thankyou - you gorgeous, generous, shiny, happy peeps.
Finders Keepers has always been my toughest gig because it is just so full on and relentless and the entire four hours of opening night I just want to simultaneously cry and vomit. Even with that charming, be-hatted helper who was by my side this time (no, not my husband (!!) as so many of you assumed - just a very good mate-turned-slave for the evening) it was still mayhem. I just unravel in mayhem.
Tough and sweaty it was but so so rewarding.
Hugs to you all. xxx
Will be uploading leftovers into the shop this week.

Glad you made it through Carmel :) Kx
well done! i admire your strength doing markets + even though FK is really great, i'd be falling apart too :)
thanks you two :)
not my intention to put a negative spin on this market because it was amazing beyond belief. Just also extremely grueling. Have often thought I'm just too old to handle this intense, frenzied selling but spoke to some young things who also feel the same as me. As one seasoned stallholder put it "it sucks the life out of you". But only until you get a good night's sleep.
Glad to see that you emerged unscathed from the craft market. It looks amazing and colourful. What a shame you are so far away..haha. I would have liked to get my mitts on some of those stalls.
Happy Holidays and all the best for an amazing 2011 - where ever your travels should take you xox
